Psychotherapy is a way to reclaim time and space. Tapping into your concerns and examining the multiple ways you make sense of these will lead you to start noticing recurring patterns that may pique your curiosity. My queries, along with yours, will likely reveal the way these patterns have served a purpose that perhaps is no longer relevant.

In this way, our work can help not only us see more clearly what is singularly and necessarily yours, but also welcome new happenings.

I will meet with you once or twice weekly for 50-minute sessions. During our first few sessions, we will talk about your reasons for seeking psychotherapy in the context of your own life. This initial work creates the atmosphere to speak without shame, fear, or prejudice.

Once I get a sense of what you expect from therapy, I follow what comes up for you in each session. I listen to your thoughts, words, and anything else that comes to mind. I mark what I hear in my responses to you, and soon our conversations find their own rhythm. A rhythm that lifts the barriers to your way of being and relating with yourself and others.

I am a licensed psychologist in Colombia. My early work with youth in Colombia and Ecuador evolved into a long and multifaceted career in policy development, focusing on alternative pathways to education. Collaborating with communities in different parts of the world, I became more and more attentive to peoples’ ability to find their way in the face of shocks or stresses, and in times of stagnation.

My interest in human agency in its infinite permutations compelled me to move in the direction of one-on-one work and resume my clinical training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I graduated from the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy, an intensive and rigorous program that prepared me to listen for the intimately singular ways we take part in our world. I listen for individuals’ unique orientation as I assist them in making room for their different ways of being and relating.

I offer a no-charge 15–30 minute consultation for us to assess the possibility of working together. If we decide to continue, the fee for a regular session is $130.
