About
Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. Maybe you’re stuck in patterns you wish you could break, feeling disconnected from who you truly are, or navigating challenges in your relationships. Possibly something deeply painful has happened, and you’re unsure how to move forward. Whatever brings you to therapy, I’m here to meet you where you are. Therapy can help you find clarity, relief, and the breathing room you may be missing.
My approach to psychotherapy is relational, meaning I bring my full self into our work together. I believe that healing happens within the context of meaningful connection. My role is to guide our work in a way that feels both safe and transformative. We’ll work in a way that supports your growth, honours your pace and helps you reconnect with yourself.
I offer medium-to long-term therapy, usually meeting once a week. Sessions are 50 minutes long. At the current time, I offer sessions online via a secure video conferencing platform or by phone. These sessions will offer you a confidential and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I hold an honors diploma in Social Service Work, and I am a graduate of the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP). I am a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT).
My approach is based in a respect for your individuality and innate self-knowledge. I strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
Finding a therapist you feel comfortable speaking with is an important first step. I invite you to reach out for a free initial consultation. This is a no-pressure opportunity to explore whether virtual or phone therapy with me feels like the right fit for you.
You can contact me at jwestoby.psychotherapy@gmail.com or use the contact form on this page. I’m available Monday to Friday and aim to respond within 24 hours. Our 20 minute consultation is a chance for you to ask any questions and discuss any concerns you may have about starting therapy. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
