STATUS: CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Psychotherapy can help you to feel less alone and isolated in your life. Gaining acceptance and feeling understood can assist you in reclaiming parts of the self that are often hidden in shame and guilt. Many people who have a deep commitment to change, but who have been skeptical or uncertain about how to change, or don’t come from a family or culture that supports that kind of personal work, are often unable to shift gears and reawaken their inner strengths, unless they receive psychotherapeutic support to achieve their goals.
By allowing yourself to be respectfully listened to in the confidential setting of my office, positive changes can occur.
I bring much clinical experience to my work. I am very client-focused, caring, and empathic. I am interested in helping you to feel more comfortable in your life regardless of your situation. I will work collaboratively and respectfully with you to help you to achieve more stability and ease in your physical and inner life. We will begin with an assessment of your current circumstances and your goals for therapy. What brings you here with such a desire for inner exploration? Is there pain in your deeper self that is bursting out and leading you to desire change? What is the struggle? We will work together to uncover these and other questions and find solutions that work for you.
My psychotherapy practice is informed by my own extensive therapy journey, and my formal psychodynamic studies and training at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP), and the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. In addition, my thirty years of service in EMS and five years in Social Services have facilitated my transition from working with the obvious physical traumas of patients in emergency situations, and the chronic human suffering of clients in social services, to helping patients work through their emotional traumas within a psychotherapeutic context.
These career changes were a natural progression for me as they enabled me to utilize all of my abilities and experiences from growing up in a civil war, living among several cultures and in different countries, and my eventual immigration to Toronto as a teenager.
In the therapy with me, I will assess your situation and collaboratively work to bring back stability in your life, so that you can move forward and achieve your inherent potential, while experiencing positive changes in the present.
Please email or telephone me to schedule a pro bono thirty-minute consultation. Getting the right match is very important for the therapeutic process. I will be pleased to meet with you.
If you would like more information or to schedule a consultation please contact me at 647-234-8426 or firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you.
