Do you want to grow in life? I believe that wisdom and creativity emerge through openness, curiosity, and reflection on your authentic experience. I work mostly with people in their twenties and thirties who find themselves at a turning point. Many of my clients identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender (LGBT).

Relationships can run into turbulent times. Whehther you are facing a crisis as a couple, or seeking personal growth and new insights, or need to change things up and fall in love again talking things over with your partner in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential setting can be life altering.

Despair does not always yield to introspection, reflection, or fretful worry. Our demons, so to speak, must often be spoken into view, preferably in collaboration with an other, someone with an ear for this very specific kindness.

What if therapy isn't about finding out what's wrong with us, but rediscovering those parts of ourselves that have been buried? And what if healing isn't about fixing ourselves, but alleviating suffering by uncovering the depths of who we are? Therapy encourages self-curiosity and allows growth to happen naturally.

When confusion, anxiety, shame, or despair begin to impede upon day-to-day living, finding ways to rediscover your strength and resilience is of paramount importance.

Therapy is about deciding to move beyond fears and limitations, and about making a commitment to being fully and uniquely yourself.

Psychotherapy is an opportunity to shed old, unhelpful ways of being for more authentic forms of connecting. Recognizing your own patterns, let alone changing them, can be difficult without support.

This is where we begin: with your desire to be in your life, and in the world, with less fear, and with as much authenticity and happiness as possible; to simply be more of who you are.

As you consider the idea of therapy and begin your search for a therapist, I’m guessing you may feel pretty vulnerable. I get it, I’ve been there. Trusting another with your personal story and letting go of some of the protections you have put in place over the years takes time. As your unique story unfolds, we will get there - together.

Sometimes it is more difficult to ask a question than to answer it. In conversation with another, one practiced in the art of attuned listening, it becomes possible to discover not only what is worthy of questioning, but why answers have remained so stubbornly concealed from our own searching.

Consider what brought you here. Are you worried about the future? Relationships suffer when we feel dissatisfied, lonely, or lost. Do you feel misunderstood? At times we can be strangers to ourselves; our actions and responses seem mysteriously out of place and "not me”. If we can slow down enough to approach these moments with curiosity and without judgement, perhaps we no longer have to remain under the thumb of our feelings. Therapy helps slow things down.
