STATUS: CURRENTLY WAITLISTING NEW CLIENTS
Psychotherapy helps us break free of old patterns and explore new possibilities. It frees us to imagine a different way of being and connects us to hidden parts of ourselves.
Many people initially come to psychotherapy to find relief from personal suffering. While psychotherapy is an effective treatment for unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours, it is also a process that leads to increased connection with ourselves and others.
In therapy you can speak about any thoughts or feelings that are relevant to you. You may wish to speak about challenges in your current relationships, or perhaps you want to examine past experiences that you are struggling with. There are no prescribed topics of discussion. I may offer suggestions of areas we might explore or ask prompting questions, but the overall direction of the therapy is up to you.
In addition to in-person sessions, I offer therapy via phone and video. Typically, I meet with clients once or twice a week for 50-minute sessions. My rate is $130 for a 50-minute session. This includes HST.
Prior to my work as a psychotherapist, I was a teacher for the Toronto District School Board. Since many young people don’t yet have words to express the complexity of their feelings, working with children and adolescents helped hone my ability to attune to communication that struggles to find language. I will bring this experience into my work with you, as we work to find words that illuminate the complexities of your lived experiences.
I hold BA and BEd degrees and am a graduate of the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy.
