About
As human beings we long to be heard and understood as we are or imagine ourselves to be. We require safe spaces to help us explore our unique stories that help our sense of self to develop. A therapeutic relationship provides us a safe space to be able to speak freely and honestly without judgement. To be able to connect with a therapist whom we trust, and who can assist us in our self-exploration. By exploring our life experiences and how we feel and think can help lead us to a greater sense of awareness and integration of self. By helping us to become curious about our lives, relationships and the world around us. Psychodynamic therapy is not a quick fix solution but rather works at a human pace that is meaningful and healing in connection.
I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, a therapy that helps integrate self-awareness through dialogue with a therapist. This process is for you to come as you are without the pressure to perform but rather become more familiar with yourself. The therapy space is for you to explore your emotional and thinking life with the support and care of a therapist. This unique human experience can help you identify root causes to your struggles that can provide lasting change and how to better cope with life.
My own adverse life experiences as a young refugee navigating my way in a new country eventually led me to seek psychotherapy as an adult. The experience helped me to explore and learn about myself by finding my voice and my curiosity. Eventually I made the decision for a change in career path and began my studies at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy. I studied in a graduate-level program in psychodynamic psychotherapy for 9 years and graduated in 2022. I have been practicing as a therapist since 2019.
I offer therapy in English and Persian (Farsi). I meet with clients on a weekly basis for 60 minutes. My office is located in the Yonge and Eglinton area, about a five minute walk from the Eglinton subway station with street parking availability. I also offer therapy in-person, online and by phone.
If you would like to talk about the process of therapy or have any questions, I offer a no fee 30-minute consultation. All communication is confidential.
I can be reached by email at arzumoradian@gmail.com or by phone at 416-505-0081. I will get back to you within a day.
