Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy and is a kind of conversation that helps you explore and understand your deeper, often unconscious, thoughts and feelings, as well as what motivates and influences you. By examining these influences and the patterns they have led to, we see their impact on your current life. This process can help you gain insights into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. This process of self-discovery, with the experience of the therapeutic relationship, can lead to personal growth, self-awareness, and improved mental and emotional well-being. Ultimately, this form of conversation can help you develop a stronger, more fulfilling sense of self.

My approach centres on creating a compassionate, safe and, where appropriate, playful space for my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, desires, and life experiences.

In this work we collaboratively explore your unique challenges, goals, and strengths, generating insight into your emotional patterns and thought processes. Together, working with whatever you bring forward in sessions, we explore and address the underlying issues that may be affecting your mental and emotional well-being. Threaded into this work is our therapeutic relationship, which plays an integral role in allowing new awareness of how you are with others to arise. My ultimate goal is to support you on your journey towards self-discovery and personal growth to lead a more fulfilling, balanced life.

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I practice medium to long-term therapy. I work with individuals in 50-minute virtual sessions, generally meeting weekly or biweekly.

I am a jack-of-all-trades type of person. My experience is full of varied skills, from the arts to event planning to technical systems. I enjoy building, fixing, and creating things from whatever is available.

I came to psychotherapy after my own journey of self-discovery in a difficult time of life. As I began to know more about myself internally, I also began to see more clearly how most of us humans yearn to be heard and seen and to feel safe to be authentic. This led to my exploration of and education in psychotherapy where I am honoured to work with people who want to make changes and courageously strive towards a better self.
