There are points in our lives when we feel tired of destructive or unhealthy patterns in our relationships. We may be overwhelmed or struggling with daily life. Seeking a therapist to speak to openly and in complete confidence can ease tensions, and give us space to be heard and seen.

I offer a warm and inviting space for you to share what is on your mind so that you can put words to some of the feelings you may or may not have spoken about before. So many of us move through our lives silently. Speaking with someone who is skilled and trained can be life-changing.

Therapy is directed by you. I am here to listen and support you in our dialogues. We can discuss anything and everything. You may want to explore your intimate relationships, struggles, worries, joys, or fantasies. Ultimately, you lead the process of therapy and, together, we will find some of the sources and patterns of thought that may have created obstacles in your life.

I have been described as calm and kind. My approach to our conversation welcomes all of your thoughts and feelings so that I may understand your perspective fully. My stance is non-judgmental. Because of my background in nursing, I have a unique understanding of how physical health may interplay with your emotional life.

I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, a modality that focuses on both who you are as an individual as well as the way you relate to others. Sometimes we do not know why we do the things we do or act how we act, because some active parts of us sit outside our conscious awareness. As we talk through your thoughts, memories, and even your dreams, you will gain greater access to your unconscious mind. This work can grow your conscious awareness, giving you more room to work with difficult thoughts and feelings. We will work together to reach some of your internal processes that may be directing your actions and relationships, sometimes in negative ways.

Typically, I see clients at least once per week for 50 minutes. My office is conveniently located on the subway line, and my space is quiet, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.

Due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19, I am only seeing clients virtually or by phone at this time.

I followed an indirect route to psychotherapy, which has provided me with experiences to view life from a variety of perspectives. I am a dual citizen of Canada and the United States but have spent most of my life in Toronto. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Art History, I pursued my first career as a Registered Nurse, working in clinics and hospitals and, eventually, an independent secondary school. I then embarked on the path to become a psychotherapist and enrolled in the rigorous training program at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy.

Because of my nursing background, I have a multifaceted skill-set that includes physical health and the mind, as well as a social reach that welcomes anyone who seeks help.

One of the most important aspects of successful therapy is finding someone you trust and like. Let’s talk about what you are looking for in a therapist.

Please contact me at aviapeacock@gmail.com to book a free 30-minute initial consultation. I look forward to speaking with you.

Due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19, I am only seeing clients virtually or by phone. My in-person office hours will resume immediately when appropriate. My fee is $130 + HST ($146.90).

At the moment I have a few spots available during the weekday only, nothing after 3 pm.

If you would like more information, or to schedule an initial consultation, please contact me at aviapeacock@gmail.com.
