So many of us have been conditioned not to share our struggles. Psychotherapy provides an opportunity for us to reveal our truths to another person. By revealing ourselves to a skilled therapist, more truths emerge. Psychotherapists are trained to hear below the surface of our words. In this way, therapy provides a way to know ourselves better and pull into focus the unconscious dynamics of our relationships. I don’t tend to see my clients through a lens of “mental illness” or “mental health”. Rather, I have deep respect for how difficult it is to be human, as we are such complex beings.

Have a look at my video Toward Healthier Responses for a glimpse of the root of my practice.

You will be in charge of your therapy in the sense that you will determine what you choose to talk about or work on. I will follow you in your process. But our therapy will be quite interactive as I will give you a fair amount of feedback.

I am there to listen with a “third ear” and will be giving you input on what I think might be going on. My aim is to help you make sense of what leaves you puzzled and pained. Our psyche is like an iceberg with only a tiny percentage above water or conscious; the majority is under water or unconscious. When we become more conscious of our motivation and beliefs, we have greater clarity and control of our behaviours and thought patterns.

In my previous life, I was an actress in Toronto and Los Angeles. I embarked on my own therapy as a young woman and became fascinated with the work. Psychotherapy was truly transformative and I chose to make it my work.

With my film and television background, I work well with people in the creative field. Continued study and being a mother has taught me much about child development and parenting. Working with teens is an area of strong interest. I also work with addictions of all sorts.

Having come to Canada as a six-year-old, I also have a profound understanding of cultural differences and the immigrant experience. My clients have come from all walks of life and have enriched my life with their varied challenges and stories.

Please feel free to email me at mungling@rogers.com or call me at 416-737-2971 for a brief phone consultation to determine if we would work well together.

I do sessions by Skype and phone but much prefer meeting in person.

I work some evenings and weekends as well.

If you would like to get a better sense of who I am and what I offer, visit my website. My psychotherapy practice is conveniently located near Yonge and Lawrence in Toronto. I offer a brief complimentary phone consultation.

I look forward to helping you transform your own life, as psychotherapy transformed mine.
