You may notice yourself returning to certain questions, emotions, relationships, or ways of being without fully understanding what draws you back. Therapy offers a space to explore these experiences and become curious about what they might reveal.
Together, we can explore thoughts, feelings, relationships, and aspects of yourself that may have remained outside of awareness or been difficult to put into words. As experiences that may have remained unspoken begin to take shape in language, new understandings can emerge.
The process of speaking, reflecting, and being listened to can itself open new ways of thinking about your experience. Over time, therapy can deepen your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that influence how you move through the world. Developing a clearer sense of yourself may create greater freedom, choice, and possibility in your life.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we pay attention not only to what is happening in the present, but also to the deeper emotional and relational patterns that organize your experience. Together, we explore both what is immediately apparent and what may be operating outside of awareness.
Sessions are conversational, reflective, and collaborative. Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction or problem-solving, therapy becomes an arena to explore your inner world and the meanings that emerge through your experiences and relationships. We pay attention to recurring themes and patterns as they emerge over time, including within the therapeutic relationship itself.
Beginning therapy can sometimes feel like a step into the unknown. My aim is to cultivate a therapeutic environment where thoughts and feelings can be explored openly, and where new ways of understanding yourself may become possible.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, low mood, relationship difficulties, and family dynamics. I also have experience working with questions related to identity, gender, sexuality, and the emotional complexities that can accompany experiences of immigration, displacement, and belonging.
As someone who is fluent in both English and Farsi and has lived between cultures, I appreciate the ways that cultural background, family history, and questions of belonging can influence our sense of self and our relationships with others. These experiences often carry layers of meaning that deserve thoughtful attention and exploration.
I believe that there is something valuable in having a place dedicated to thinking, feeling, and speaking freely about one’s experience. When aspects of ourselves that have remained unspoken are given language and attention, new understandings can emerge.
If you are considering therapy, I invite you to reach out by email to arrange an initial consultation. This first conversation offers an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, ask questions about the process, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
I currently offer virtual psychotherapy sessions for adults across Ontario. Therapy is available in English and Farsi. I aim to respond to inquiries as promptly as possible and look forward to hearing from you.
