You may be struggling to cope or understand yourself. You may find yourself with feelings, thoughts, or reactions that can be overwhelming and limiting life, such as anxiousness, sadness, intrusive thoughts, memories or pain. Studies in the field of neurobiology tell us that each of us responds to stressors, distress, and trauma in unique ways because of our history, community, and patterning.
In therapy, we can look to understand and work with your thoughts, emotions, and body in the here and now. We’ll listen for clues to how to find new ways to support your nervous system. This may be through exploring your past, finding resources for the present, or making steps for a different future.
In the therapy relationship I’ll work to support you to meet your goals and distress with compassion, acceptance, authenticity, and curiosity. Together we’ll explore ways to mindfully find healing and wholeness that meets you where you are, and that is meaningful

I take a compassionate, authentic, collaborative approach to therapy. I deeply believe in the internal wisdom of those I work with; you know what feels right, or at least not right, for you. We will explore with care and curiosity what is going on for you. Together, we will test out different resources, perspectives, and explore memories and emotions to find new opportunities for safety, healing, and growth available today.
It is my job to guide us to focus on the goals and areas of life that are important for you in therapy. Whether it be managing stress at work or home, struggling to cope with overwhelming feelings, trauma, life changes, or pain, I’ll meet you where you are. We’ll map a path forward together at a pace that works for you and your life.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating awareness of both your mind and body, as well as the broader contexts in which you live.
I strive to live and work guided by the principles of mindfulness, non-violence, equity, and social justice in my own imperfect, yet authentic, human way. I am passionate about understanding and supporting people to find healing for themselves, recognizing that there are many systems in our world that hold us back from this. Some of the important elements that keep me going are: my regular meditation practice, being engaged with my community (both of which keep me connected), my own therapy (I don’t ask clients to do things I wouldn’t do myself), being outdoors and staying active (it grounds me) and a regular dose of playing in the kitchen, gardening on my own, and with family and friends (because fun is important too).
I have a Masters of Arts from the University of Toronto with a focus on holistic counseling and systems theory, and a Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have an eclectic background using a relational, holistic, trauma-informed and client-centred approach.
I have additional specialized training in working mindfully with the body to resource and process stress, trauma, and relationships using Sensorimotor (body-oriented) Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST).
