As you consider the idea of therapy and begin your search for a therapist, I’m guessing you may feel pretty vulnerable. I get it, I’ve been there. Trusting another with your personal story and letting go of some of the protections you have put in place over the years takes time. As your unique story unfolds, we will get there - together.

Therapy is an important exchange that aims to help make use of our mindful and experiential wisdom. It offers resources and new ways of being to turn seemingly impossible situations such as life transitions, trauma, employment-based or relational conflict and injustice into ones in which we can find integration and dignity.

We have great inner resources for healing and for growth. But we need a context in which we feel listened to and heard, and within which a new perspective can develop. My method as a psychotherapist is to listen carefully to your dreams, experiences, fears, hopes, and longings, as we work to understand your particular concerns and experiences.

Sometimes it is more difficult to ask a question than to answer it. In conversation with another, one practiced in the art of attuned listening, it becomes possible to discover not only what is worthy of questioning, but why answers have remained so stubbornly concealed from our own searching.

Recurring feelings of anxiety, sadness or anger can overwhelm us. Past experiences, unhealthy patterns, or difficulty in relationships can intensify these feelings. Therapy can offer a space to explore your internal landscape in conversation.

We sometimes doubt that others truly understand what we are feeling, so we struggle in silence. This takes a toll on our minds and our bodies and leaves us feeling anxious or depressed.

Sometimes you need someone to talk to. A place to explore your thinking, behaviours, relationships and the past.
